Our Mission

As all of you know, the natural resources are becoming lesser and lesser. Our company started recycling the old furniture twenty years ago which was pretty hard in those days. It took few months for the whole process to revamp a piece. Here below is the workflow.

Collect items from different houses

In the past years, we were trying our best to find old unique furniture from various parts of China especially in the mountain areas where no transport could be reached.

Unfinished items

Subsequent to our collection, we would arrange manpower to carry the pieces from the mountain to the city and sent back to our workshop for storage.

China Workshop

In our workshop, we would check the furniture and classify into different group, i.e., antique pieces, old pieces and pieces needed to be reconstructed … etc. Then, our carpenters would restore the pieces according to their own characteristics.

Exhibition

We also attended exhibition. This not only helps to conserve the Chinese Culture, but also spread the message of recycling.

We will continue to devote ourselves in this business which let our next generation have a wonderful ‘GREEN’ World.

Wood Properties

Camphor Wood Profile

Camphor tree is a large evergreen tree that grows up to 20–30 metres tall.  Camphor wood is gray white or light yellow at its sapwood.  It is gold to dark brown at its heartwood, sometimes with a red tint; and it also can be a red brown with warm dark brown sections.  The texture, grain and luster of Camphor wood is lustrous. Its texture is even and can be medium to fine.  Camphor wood's grain is usually straight, though it can be wavy or interlocked.  Furthermore, the smell Camphor wood repels insects.

Elm Wood Profile

Elmwood is traditionally the most common wood used in the manufacture of furniture in Northern China. The sapwood tends to be yellowish-brown in tone, whereas the heartwood is typically more of a chestnut brown color; both possess a striking, wave-like grain. This wood dries with difficulty and is of medium density and hardness, making it an excellent medium for furniture manufacture.  Elm wood is used in many Chinese furniture pieces for its durability and nice grain.

Huanghuali Wood Profile

The Chinese term huanghuali literally means "yellow flowering pear" wood. It is a member of the rosewood family.  The sweet fragrance of huanghuali distinguishes it from the similar appearing but pungent-odor redwood.  The finest huanghuali has a translucent shimmering surface with abstractly figured patterns which appearing like ghost faces were highly prized. The color can range from reddish-brown to golden-yellow.  Hainan Island is the main source of huanghuali.  However, similar species are sourced throughout North Vietnam, Guangxi, Indochina and the other isles of the South China Sea.

Zitan Wood Profile

Zitan is a member of the rosewood family, it is possibly the most prized wood among tropical hardwoods because of its rarity. Although the zitan tree is not extinct, it is very slow growing and the growth is confined to southern China, Indochina and islands in the Indian Ocean.  Zitan is an extremely dense wood, it cannot stay afloat in water. It appears blackish-purple to blackish-red in color. Its color darkens with time, giving the wood a distinctive deep coloring. Because of its natural beautiful color, Zitan is almost never painted but only polished or finished with clear lacquer. The texture of the wood grain is very fine making it suitable for intricate carving.

ChickenWing Wood Profile

Jichimu, literally translated as 'chicken-wing wood', describes the wood with deep brown and gray patterns when cut tangentially resemble the patterns of bird feathers. It is a Chinese hardwood.  The radial cut appears less dramatically with parallel lines of concentric layered tissue.  Jichimu is indigenous to Hainan Island.

Blackwood Profile

Black wood is a dense, hard and comparatively stable material for furniture.  Its wood grain percentage is higher than most comparable woods and is very attractive. Once cut, it will mature to a deep luster.  There are three different colors for blackwood : the pale, the red and the black. Among them, pale blackwood displays a grain very similar to Huanghuali.

Shipwood Profile

Shipwood is dismantled from the old ships, the wooden boards are immersed in sea water for decades.  Shipwood furniture is usually without any paint finish, therefore it show the wood's original natural texture.  Shipwood is with harder texture therefore it is heavier than other wood.  People love to use shipwood furniture for its natural texture and color, such as the fire-like black block and irregular distribution of large and small drilling.

Ebony Wood Profile

The best ebony is very heavy, almost black and derived from heartwood only.  It has straight to irregular grain with a fine, even texture and metallic luster.  Heartwood color varies from medium brown to jet black to gray depending on species and with light gray sapwood.  Its closeness of grain, great hardness, fine hazel-brown colour, mottled and striped with black renders it valuable for furniture making.

Burl Wood Profile

Burl is also called Yingmu.  It get its name with its cloudy and curly looking grains resembling bud formations. Burl is not synonymous with some trees but all long scarring trees.  It is grown on the root or trunk of any trees, in oval lump shape or twisted knots, just like tumor.
